Internships

Email to inquire

Are You looking for hands-on training as a MSW student?

If you need a place to get your required hours for school, Potential Realized could be a good fit for you! We offer both generalist and clinical internships in a hybrid model to help you apply what you are learning in school, in real time in the real world.

Generalist interns are typically the first people clients encounter when they contact Potential Realized via telephone and email. They do intake calls with clients to ensure mutual fit and they help clients get set up for services and understand what they should expect. Interns are also deeply involved in the client and community engagement processes. They also provide back-end support for our public trainings and events.

Clinical interns provide therapy services to clients while learning the back office functions of running a private practice (typically not taught in school). They conduct assessments, develop case conceptualizations and treatment plans, complete clinical documentation after each session, track clients' progress, journal and process their self of the therapist challenges, and attend sueprvision. They are also involved in the community engagement, networking, and providing support for public trainings and events.

natalie's Supervision Style

My supervision style is warm, encouraging, and direct. I want you to get the most out of supervision with me and your internship at Potential Realized. We provide access to a lot of web-based trainings for you to acclimate to our processes at Potential Realized followed by direct support with our team members. You also will have at least one hour of dedicated time directly with me each week to process through your wins and challenges each week. Clinical interns also participate in supervision with the clinical team each week.

During generalist supervision each week:

  • We center your needs
  • Work through any challenges and questions you have
  • Co-develop/review your learning contract for progress
  • Approve your timesheets for school
  • Discuss any projects and upcoming events

During clinical supervision each week:

  • Review video clips of your work and discuss your cases
  • Help you develop and refine your theoretical orientation
  • Processing self of the therapist concerns
